Manawatu Jets break losing spell

The Manawatu Jets recorded just their third win of the National Basketball League with a narrow 83-81 win over the Auckland Stars at ASB Stadium in Auckland last night.

The win puts the Jets in seventh place on the table, two points clear of Auckland on four who have only the winless Taranaki Dynamos, losers of 11 straight games, behind them.

It was the first time the Jets had beaten the Stars since 2004.
