> Baston batted first, posting a defendable 120 off 39.1 overs despite opener Lloyd Stewart (5), John Lamin (2), Steve Richardson (0) and Joe Reeves (4) all being dismissed cheaply.
Ant Morris looked in fine form as he scored 23 including four boundaries and Chris Bower batted responsibly for 15 before Doug Russell (19) and Ben Hudson (23no) built a steady partnership to push Baston over the 100 mark.
Burgh had been on a good run and were looking good in their reply until a controversial run-out saw off opener Scott Underwood (6).
Burgh skipper Ben Pearce (31) continued to find runs as the top order collapsed around him and eventually he was bowled by the ball of the day from Steve Richardson for 31, leaving Burgh on 47-4.
The middle order didn’t put up much resistance as Richardson ripped through them on his way to an impressive 7 for 19 off 11.3 overs.
Burgh finished on 63 all out as Baston won by 57 runs.
Baston host second-placed Long Sutton 2nds at home on Saturday.
