Normal hair shedding should not be of concern or alarm, as we typically loose 50 to 100 hairs per day. However, if you notice heavier hair loss or worst if you notice bald spots, it?s best to consult your dermatologist. Your hair loss may have started with a few extra hairs in the sink or in your comb, but when heavy hair loss should be of concern and should be treated immediately.
There is a parade of drugstore cures to treat thinning hair and baldness at your local pharmacy, but the only true way to restore your hairline is to seek treatment from a physician. Board-certified physicians trained in hair restoration surgery (a.k.a. dermatologic surgeons) are uniquely qualified to diagnose the cause of hair loss and recommend a treatment plan.
Hair loss can be treated. The sooner you contact a qualified doctor, the sooner you?ll be able to restore your mane.

Drink milk, lose kilos
0 Comments | New Straits Times, Jun 20, 2010 | by Suzieana Uda Nagu
CHOCOLATE milk may sound sinful and fattening but nothing could be further from the truth, writes SUZIEANA UDA NAGU.
Malaysians are not fans of milk.
Research shows that they drink milk only once a week or only 30 litres a year. This is 70 per cent less than the amount Westerners take.
That locals are not making milk part of their daily diet means that they are missing out on the many nutritional values of the dairy drink, say experts.
Although Mazlinda Mat Sab (not her real name) knows that milk is a rich source of calcium that will, among others, prevent osteoporosis in old age, she cannot stomach the taste of the opaque white liquid.
“Despite forcing myself to drink milk more often, I still have not acquired a taste for it,” she says.
However, Mazlinda finds the creamy sweetness of chocolate milk palatable.
“But I am afraid I’ll gain weight if I drink too much chocolate milk,” she adds.
Drinking chocolate milk may sound sinful and fattening but nothing could be further from the truth.
Chocolate milk is – as American nutrition health expert David Zinczenko puts it – a “childhood staple (that) may be the ideal vehicle for your body’s most neglected nutritional needs”.
In his Yahoo! Health column Eat This, Not That recently, Zinczenko wrote: “Each bottle delivers a package of micro- and macronutrients that can help you shake off body flab and replace it with firm muscle.”
The editor-in-chief of Men’s Health, a men’s lifestyle magazine, recommends consuming three 226g servings of chocolate milk at key points throughout your day – one when you wake up, a second before you exercise, and a third directly after your workout.
“If it’s your day off (from exercising), just pattern them for morning, afternoon and night,” adds Zinczenko, also author of New York Times best-sellers Abs Diet and Abs Diet for Women.
Here is how chocolate milk can help you lose kilos:
A series of recent studies shows that calcium not only builds strong bones but also impedes your body’s ability to absorb fat.
It is estimated that consuming 1,000mg of calcium can melt away 8kg of flab.
“Knock back three servings of brown cow and you’ll reach that crucial 1,000mg threshold,” says Zinczenko.
Drinking chocolate milk may also prevent a deficiency of Vitamin D, which is a nutrient vital to keeping a svelte figure as it moves “calcium from your food to your body”.
Although the body produces Vitamin D naturally when your skin is exposed to sunlight, the risk of skin cancer has made people less keen to stay outdoors.
“The solution is to drink chocolate milk, which like most milk, is fortified with Vitamin D,” says Zinczenko.
The best chocolate milk option, says Zinczenko, is the low-fat variety.
“It has the fat you need to absorb crucial vitamins – such as Vitamin D – yet at three cups a day, it will save you 120 calories over whole milk,” he adds.
While chocolate milk may aid weight loss, it is not a magic bullet. To lose weight, you still have to exercise.
“Drinking chocolate milk can improve your (fitness) gains,” says Zinczenko.
In a study published in The International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism, subjects given chocolate milk before hopping on the stationary bikes were able to ride 49 per cent longer than those given a generic carbohydrate-replacement beverage.
“This is because milk has naturally occurring electrolytes that keep you hydrated – more than water – and its natural sweetness helps push more energy into your muscles,” he adds.
On top of that, chocolate milk contains protein – estimated at 8g per cup – which helps build muscle.
“Muscle burns more calories than fat, which leads to weight loss,” says Zinczenko.
HERE is another advantage of drinking milk – it can also win you prizes.
In an effort to raise the number of milk consumers in Malaysia, Dutch Lady Malaysia recently launched the Spread the Goodness of Milk campaign aimed at raising public awareness of the nutritional benefits of milk.
A contest is also being held to coincide with the campaign.
Count the number of milk packs on the contest form and answer two simple questions to stand a chance to win the grand prize of a double-storey terrace house with home decor package, among other prizes.

But be sure to check your local regulations before moving ahead — and ask your venue if they know of any licensing requirements.
Is there a cake-cutting fee?
Some venues even limit your choice of bakers, but most don’t. A more common (and sneakier) tactic is to charge you a cake-cutting fee, which like corkage fees, can really add up — often at $1 per slice!
DIY Detective Work
These, of course, are only a few of the questions you’ll want to ask a prospective venue manager. A few more tips while you’re checking out the place:
- Bring a tape measure. Get the dimensions of the room, the tables, and the distance between any features that might impact your decor, like windows. How many outlets are there and where are they located? What kind of climate control is available to you?
- Check the kitchen. Does it look clean, roomy and suitable for your catering staff to work from?
- Check the hall itself. Where will you put the band, the cake table, the coffee service? Are there coat racks for your guests? Is a sound system available?
- Check out the parking.

Manawatu Jets break losing spell
0 Comments | Nelson Mail, The, May 15, 2009
The Manawatu Jets recorded just their third win of the National Basketball League with a narrow 83-81 win over the Auckland Stars at ASB Stadium in Auckland last night.
The win puts the Jets in seventh place on the table, two points clear of Auckland on four who have only the winless Taranaki Dynamos, losers of 11 straight games, behind them.
It was the first time the Jets had beaten the Stars since 2004.
The score see-sawed for much of the match after the teams were level 17-17 at the end of the first quarter

An example would be a swarm of bees can bring down an Elk. Recently this was discussed in an online think tank and one guest member brought up the point of the fly and the elephant. But indeed the truth be known and the reply came flying in fast when another member stated;
?Oh baloney, The United States will hunt down and kill all terrorists individually if we have too. And you can take your little Elephant Fly story and shove it up your rear.?
Indeed the Elephant-Fly story-teller did not get it. Yes the US has the biggest Army. But do not think that we will succumb to threats. You see the US has been studying the flies, how they fly, mate, meet, eat and peddle in feces. The United States of America will now be going after individuals, networks and their friends and family programs too. Anyone who thinks that the United States will fall to International Terrorists does not know what they are talking about and is someone severely mislead.

This variety means that you may not have much in common with them. You might have to spend time alone in your cabin. Can you handle being by yourself? Of course, it might be possible that you are lucky and you get along with everyone, in which case you will enjoy yourself soaking in the various cultures. Or you could be luckier and get to sail with a majority of your nationality. It all depends on the company you work for. During your leisure time you can watch movies, play indoor games (cards, carom etc), work out in the gym (most ships have one) or just relax in your cabin. Most companies allow officers to send emails home and receive them. Of course, there are restrictions on the number and size of emails after all, satellites are used for transmitting/receiving emails. You will get snail mail (conventional paper letters) when the ship touches port but usually not more than once a month.
Now we come to work.

Write these all down

Write these all down on the note paper, and hide them all over the place at your honeymoon destination (on the pillow, in the luggage, in the rental car, etc.).
5. Share the Love
The funny thing about love is you get more by giving it away. That’s as true for newlyweds as for anyone else, so find ways to share your love with others. Start by committing random acts of kindness?both toward each other and complete strangers. Visit the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation web page for inspiration (http://www.actsofkindness.org/). One of our favorite stories there is about a young woman who was caught in the rain when a complete stranger gave her his own umbrella. When she asked how she would return it to him, he just smiled and walked away. Creating great memories like that adds a magical twist to your honeymoon.

Cricket: Steve’s seven wicket spree
0 Comments | Stamford Mercury & Citizen (Stamford, England), July 23, 2010
> Baston batted first, posting a defendable 120 off 39.1 overs despite opener Lloyd Stewart (5), John Lamin (2), Steve Richardson (0) and Joe Reeves (4) all being dismissed cheaply.
Ant Morris looked in fine form as he scored 23 including four boundaries and Chris Bower batted responsibly for 15 before Doug Russell (19) and Ben Hudson (23no) built a steady partnership to push Baston over the 100 mark.
Burgh had been on a good run and were looking good in their reply until a controversial run-out saw off opener Scott Underwood (6).
Burgh skipper Ben Pearce (31) continued to find runs as the top order collapsed around him and eventually he was bowled by the ball of the day from Steve Richardson for 31, leaving Burgh on 47-4.
The middle order didn’t put up much resistance as Richardson ripped through them on his way to an impressive 7 for 19 off 11.3 overs.
Burgh finished on 63 all out as Baston won by 57 runs.
Baston host second-placed Long Sutton 2nds at home on Saturday.
